Med Recs offers doctor referrals for new patients, pediatric patients, as well as renewals and upload assistance.
I recently had my renewal, and here is my experience.
The process really couldn't have gone any smoother!
My card was nearing the expiration date and I needed to renew.
I followed the link to the MedRecs website.
Chose the "Basic Med Rec" option for $49.99.
After I paid, I filled out the questionnaire and uploaded a picture of my I.D.
It only took a few hours for the doctor to call (Although it could take a couple days). They asked a few questions, and I was off the line within 5 minutes. A couple hours later I received an email with the doctor referral attached.
From there I went to the OMMA website and followed the prompts for a renewal. If you are a new patient you will need to create an account here.
It usually costs around $100 to file the application with the state.
However if you have Medicaid (SoonerCare), Medicare, or are a 100% disabled veteran the fee is reduced to $20. Proof required.
To finish your application you'll need:
Your doctor referral file.
A picture of your I.D.
A picture of yourself following these rules:
White or off-white background
Cropped to show your head and top of your shoulders
No glasses, hats, or hair in your face
Once your application is submitted you should receive an email within a few days to let you know if your application has been accepted by the OMMA. From there you should receive your medical card in the mail within about 14 business days.
